The Walsh Company is providing project management services for multiple capital improvement projects at the John Hancock Tower.

Lobby Renovation

Renovation will include major lighting and ceiling changes to emphasize the grandeur of the building entrance, high-end walk-off carpet in the main lobby, elevator lobbies, and elevator cabs will be custom designed and fabricated. Revolving doors will be replaced. New security desks will be more centrally located featuring sculpturesque design. Existing security barriers will be replaced by seamless elements. New furniture and artwork will be added to complement the design. Structural renovations and mechanical, electrical, and fire protection upgrades will be required to build the proposed improvements.

Café—The Blue Glass

New Food Service Café to replace the existing one will be located on the plaza, mezzanine and concourse levels of the John Hancock Tower. Café design includes construction of a new communicating stair accessing the existing mezzanine, and an addition to the existing mezzanine floor area. Major structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection changes will be required for the new café. Design includes high end finishes, lighting, furniture and a unique art piece created by a local artist.

Underground Parking Garage

New 120-car below grade parking facility within the existing concourse and basement levels of the John Hancock Tower will be constructed. Existing Loading Dock will be modified for the introduction of a new vehicular entry and speed ramp. Structural, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection changes will be required to accommodate the garage.
