GVA Williams New Jersey Wins Deal of the Year Award

PARSIPPANY -- On May 15th, GVA Williams New Jersey was honored by the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NJ-NAIOP) with its 2007 Economic Impact Deal of the Year Award. GVA’s president, David Simson who exclusively represented The Medicines Company in the complex transaction, was awarded the NJ-NAIOP Impact Award, which recognizes the most significant real estate transaction of the year in the state of New Jersey. The award was presented at the 21st Annual Commercial Real Estate Awards Gala, held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. In 2007 GVA Williams represented The Medicines Company in its entire 173,146-sf headquarters lease at 8 Sylvan Way in Parsippany, New Jersey. The office building is a redevelopment by The Hampshire Companies of an existing 105,000-sf building, which was stripped down to the steel and expanded to accommodate a three-story, 173,146-sf Class A headquarters state-of-the-art facility. The Medicines Company committed to expanding its headquarters in Parsippany from a 50,000-sf facility with 200 employees to a 173,416-sf building that can accommodate more than 1,000 people. The design of the building was created by HLW. The project management team was led by The Walsh Company, which is headquartered in Morristown, NJ. Attorneys representing the landlord were Russell Bershad, Esq. of Gibbons, PC, while Robert Klausner, Esq. of Thacher Proffitt & Wood, LLP represented the ownership.
