David (D.J.) Smith serves as Senior Project Manager for The Walsh Company. D.J. is responsible for overseeing construction and project management related activities including ground up construction projects and renovations for commercial and industrial related projects.

Prior to joining The Walsh Company, D.J. consulted for Trillium Enterprises, Inc. on the renovation and addition of Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, New Jersey. D.J. was the main liaison between the hospital administration, the design team and the construction manager. He was also responsible for the procurement of all hospital equipment related to the projects and simultaneously managed various other in-house renovation projects.

D.J. was also employed at Longo Associates, Inc. where he worked as an estimator responsible for the bidding and project management of laboratory casework and equipment projects and managed a team of sales and accounting personnel. In his former position with The Gale Company, D.J. held the title of Project Engineer/Manager as well Estimator where he was responsible for the budgeting, bidding and management of general construction projects. These projects ranged from interior office “fit-outs” to new building construction.

D.J. began his career after graduating from Penn State with a Civil Engineering degree, as a Staff Engineer for Paulus, Sokolowski and Sartor, Inc. (PS&S) and Vollmer Associates.
